            The Avon Braves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Oakfield-Alabama/Elba Aggies  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
Avon is headed into the  contest out to prove that what happened against York/Pavilion  on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Braves lost  42-21 to York/Pavilion. The  game marked the Braves' lowest-scoring  matchup so far this season.
 Despite the  loss, Avon had strong showings from  Kalman Dolgos, who gained 85 total yards and two touchdowns, and  James Chase, who rushed for 83 yards and one  score on only ten carries.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Oakfield-Alabama/Elba). They really took it to Finney/Northstar Christian Academy for the full four quarters, racking up  a  47-6 victory. The Aggies pushed the score to  40-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons had  no chance of recovering from.
 Oakfield-Alabama/Elba's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Avon,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at four games  and leaves them with a 5-2 record.
Friday's   contest might be decided on the ground. Avon has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 184.1  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Oakfield-Alabama/Elba struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 240.1  rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's   matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
