            Softball Recap: Chicago Academy Cougars vs. Rickover Naval Seadragons        
        
		
        
        
            Chicago Academy extended their losing streak  to four  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-9 in the process. They lost  22-5 to the Rickover Naval Seadragons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seadragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  11-7  on Wednesday.
  Destiny Rodriguez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-2 with one  home run and one  stolen base.  Aaliyah Ramirez also deserves some recognition as  she  got her first  hits of the season.
As for Rickover Naval, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6. Considering they have won four contests by more than six  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
On Rickover Naval's side,  Soli Correa made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  pitched four innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   six  hits. Correa was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with four  stolen bases, seven  RBI,  and four  runs. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Juliana Senorski, who  went 2-for-3 with four  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Kayla Mateo was another key player,  getting on base  in two of her five plate appearances with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chicago Academy is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Von Steuben  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, Rickover Naval will  challenge  rival Prosser  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
