Softball Recap: Monticello Wins Going Away Against Warren

Monticello won the last time they faced Warren and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Billies blew past the Lumberjacks 20-9. The result was nothing new for the Billies, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Alaina Lyle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Lyle was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Libby Kingston was incredible, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5. Bliss Becker was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-6.

Monticello now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Warren, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.

Coming up, Monticello will take on Crossett at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Warren, they will be playing at home against Hamburg at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lumberjacks are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
