Softball Game Preview: Lincolnton Wolves vs. Bunker Hill Bears

The Lincolnton Wolves will face off against the Bunker Hill Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincolnton has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lincolnton lost 11-1 to Maiden on Friday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bunker Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Newton-Conover on Friday as Bunker Hill made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Bears have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kylie Killian spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits.

At the plate, Kyra Ryhal and Alexis Stuebe did most of the damage at the plate: Ryhal went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Stuebe scored a run while going 3-for-4. That triple marked the first that Ryhal hit this season. Jaslynn Cook was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Bunker Hill pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lincolnton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
