Basketball Recap: Metrolina Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Metrolina Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss since January 19, 2024 on Monday. They were outmatched by the Concord Academy Eagles and fell 97-35. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-21.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emily King, who went 7 of 12 en route to 17 points. That was a full 48.6% of Metrolina Christian Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Concord Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justice Alexander, who shot 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 36 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Alexander a new career-high in points. Taylor Smith was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine assists.

Metrolina Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Concord Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.
