Volleyball Game Preview: Everett Alvarez Eagles vs. Watsonville Wildcatz

The Everett Alvarez Eagles will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Watsonville Wildcatz at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Everett Alvarez will be strutting in after a victory while Watsonville will be coming in after a loss.

Everett Alvarez is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since April 13, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past Rancho San Juan 2-1.

Watsonville kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against Palma, falling 3-0.

Watsonville was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-11, 25-23.

Everett Alvarez's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Watsonville, they dropped their record down to 0-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everett Alvarez took their win against Watsonville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Everett Alvarez repeat their success, or does Watsonville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
