Baseball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Archbishop Shaw

After losing to Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy the last time they met, Archbishop Shaw decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Archbishop Shaw Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Swamp Owls a 2-0 shutout on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

The result came thanks to Dalton Davidson's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up ten Ks. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Steven Houin was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Archbishop Shaw's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, they moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Archbishop Shaw will face off against Willow at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, they will welcome Belle Chasse at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
