Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pawnee City

If Sterling wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pawnee City, they should've done a better job of containing Payton Rose. The Indians put the hurt on the Jets with a sharp 50-24 win on Friday for which the team can thank Rose, who rushed for 153 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 115 rushing yards.

Although Sterling took the loss, they still got scores from Brody Horstman, Dane Vollman, and Beau Kaster.

The victory (which was Pawnee City's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.7 points over those games. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Pawnee City will take on Diller-Odell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sterling, they will challenge Parkview Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jets are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
