Basketball Recap: Little Wound's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Little Wound lost against Northwestern Area back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Little Wound Mustangs took a 73-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northwestern Area Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Little Wound moved to 7-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Northwestern Area, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Little Wound will challenge Pine Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. Little Wound knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Pine Ridge likes a good challenge. As for Northwestern Area, they will face off against Leola/Frederick at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northwestern Area has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
