Softball Recap: Venture Academy Mustangs vs. Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans

Venture Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Aspire Langston Hughes Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Titans on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Savanah Espinoza made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Tiffany Bruss was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Natalie Padilla, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
