Volleyball Recap: Greenway Takes a Loss

Greenway lost against Goldwater on April 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Demons fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2.

Greenway wouldn't go down easily and took Goldwater into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 21-25, 19-25, 25-10, 15-9.

When it comes to explaining why Greenway lost, don't look at Daniel Hoang. Despite the final result, he had three digs and three aces. Hoang has been hot, having also posted 12 or more assists the last seven times he's played.

Greenway has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Goldwater, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Greenway has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Thunderbird on the 22nd. As for Goldwater, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Central on the 21st.
