Volleyball Recap: Golden Valley Bulldogs vs. Foothill Trojans
Golden Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Foothill Trojans. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played on October 8th.
Golden Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-21.
Despite the loss, Golden Valley still got an impressive performance from Sofia Amaya, who had 34 digs. Amaya has been hot , having posted 16 or more digs the last six times she's played.
Even though they lost, Golden Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive matches.
