Volleyball Recap: Groesbeck Takes a Loss

Groesbeck lost against Elkhart back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Goats fell 3-1 to the Elks. The Goats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Groesbeck started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-14.

Hannah Slater paced Groesbeck's offense, picking up 17 kills. Slater got some help from Landrie Pringle and her 21 assists.

Groesbeck's defeat dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Elkhart, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Groesbeck will take on rival Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elkhart is set to challenge their familiar foe Mexia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
