Football Recap: Catholic of Pointe Coupee Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Catholic of Pointe Coupee couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs on Friday. The Hornets have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Catholic of Pointe Coupee still got an impressive performance from Jude Morrison, who rushed for 121 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw for 140 yards and one TD. Morrison has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget DaMichael Hart, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Trevin Simon had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 398 yards and five scores while picking up 10.2 yards per carry for Ascension Catholic.

Catholic of Pointe Coupee's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Ascension Catholic, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Catholic of Pointe Coupee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ascension Catholic, they have already played their next matchup, a 47-14 victory against Westminster Christian Academy on the 5th.
