Baseball Recap: Orestimba Comes Up Short

Orestimba lost against Grace Davis back in March of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Orestimba Warriors fell just short of the Grace Davis Spartans by a score of 7-5. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly two runs.

Orestimba saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Moreno, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Landon Marcotte also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Orestimba and nudges their season record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-3 Gustine (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.9% over those games). As for Grace Davis, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orestimba will square off against Gustine at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Gustine is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Grace Davis, they will venture away from home to face off against Ripon Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
