Basketball Recap: South Spencer Comes Up Short

South Spencer lost against Gibson Southern back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The South Spencer Rebels took a hard 58-42 fall against the Gibson Southern Titans. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Connor Marvel was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 9 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds for Gibson Southern. Those 18 points gave Marvel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brodey Lamb, who posted seven points in addition to nine boards and five blocks.

South Spencer now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Gibson Southern, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

South Spencer and Evansville Christian will round out the year against one another at at 10:45 a.m. on Friday. As for Gibson Southern, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-48 win against Mt. Vernon on the 21st.
