Football Recap: Christopher Colsey Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Norwalk

Ridgefield won the last time they faced Norwalk and things went their way on Saturday too. The Tigers blew past the Bears 31-7. The Tigers pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bears had little chance of recovering from.

Ridgefield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christopher Colsey, who picked up 240 receiving yards and three scores. Colsey really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 88 yards. Henry Neligan was another key player, having thrown for 263 yards and three touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Ridgefield proved: they limited Norwalk to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Michael Salimbene for the heroic effort on defense: he. Ridgefield didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.8.

Ridgefield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jackie Bucci and Salimbene. Salimbene also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine.

The win made it two in a row for Ridgefield and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.0 points over those games. As for Norwalk, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Ridgefield and Norwalk will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers will take on rival St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Norwalk is set to square off against their familiar foe Ludlowe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
