Volleyball Recap: New Bern Takes a Loss

New Bern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the D.H. Conley Vikings, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss two weeks ago.

The final score came out to 25-3, 25-15, 25-12.

New Bern's offense was headlined by Peyton Finch and Desi Byrum, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Naomi Banks and her 14 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

New Bern's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for D.H. Conley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

New Bern will face off against Overhills at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for D.H. Conley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against J.H. Rose on the 15th.
