Baseball Recap: Chino Valley Cougars vs. ALA - West Foothills Guardians
Chino Valley came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-5 to the ALA - West Foothills Guardians.
Chino Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Zerger, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Zerger has posted since back in March of 2024. Caden Doak also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Chino Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for ALA - West Foothills, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chino Valley will face off against Camp Verde at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Camp Verde has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something Chino Valley will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for ALA - West Foothills, they will challenge Kingman at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Kingman's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
