Softball Recap: Constantine Has No Trouble Against Sturgis

Constantine's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Sturgis Trojans with a sharp 17-5 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Taryn Wolfinger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Jozee Buglione was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten matches. Breanna Bristol was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Constantine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 15 hits in three consecutive games.

Constantine's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Sturgis, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Constantine has already played their next contest (against Centreville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Sturgis, they are taking a road trip to square off against Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
