Recap: N.C. School for the Deaf Bears vs. The Master's Academy Lions

If the N.C. School for the Deaf Bears were feeling good off their 53-18 takedown of the Eastern North Carolina School for the Deaf Fighting Hornet last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. N.C. School for the Deaf was beaten by the Lions 57-15 on Tuesday. N.C. School for the Deaf has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

The Master's Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zachary Gatlin out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Gatlin is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Davis, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

N.C. School for the Deaf now has a losing record at 7-8. As for The Master's Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. N.C. School for the Deaf's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st. Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for The Master's Academy, they will be playing at home against the Fire at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Christian Family Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in North Carolina (the Fire are ranked 269th, while the Lions are ranked 581st).
