Football Recap: Bristol Comes Up Short

If Bristol was riding high fresh off their 48-8 takedown of New Hope-Solebury last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors were beaten by the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders 49-21 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Crusaders are ranked 116th).

With the defeat, Bristol broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3. As for Lansdale Catholic, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bristol will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Morrisville at 10:30 a.m. on the 27th. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 14.1 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Lansdale Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Lakeland at 1:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Crusaders 10.8, the Chiefs 13.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
