The Lafayette Christian Cougars won the last time they faced LaGrange Academy, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Lafayette Christian blew past LaGrange Academy 81-21 at home. With Lafayette Christian ahead 46-10 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Lafayette Christian had a senior duo take command as Bruno Tellez went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 5 assists and Joshua Zapata made all 7 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 27 points and 1 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Zapata has scored at least 25% of Lafayette Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Vakiel Hammett, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Lafayette Christian now has a winning record of 3-2. As for LaGrange Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette Christian will square off against Trinity Christian School of Griffin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. LaGrange Academy is on the road again on Thursday and play against St. George's at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th.
