Basketball Recap: Plainview Takes a Loss

Plainview came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Lacassine Cardinals 58-17. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Plainview's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-11. As for Lacassine, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-10.

Plainview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-37 loss against Rapides on the 15th. As for Lacassine, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Reeves at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
