Baseball Recap: Assumption Takes a Loss

Assumption was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Davenport North Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 on Monday.

Assumption's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Davenport North, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Assumption wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-8 victory against Western Dubuque on the 10th. As for Davenport North, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Maquoketa on the 10th.
