Basketball Recap: New Summerfield Takes a Loss

New Summerfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 74-6 loss at the hands of the Douglass Indians. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1619th, while the Indians are ranked 415th).

New Summerfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Douglass, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8.

It'll be a Battle of the Bugs the New Summerfield Hornets duke it out with the Alto Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Douglass, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-38 victory against Cushing on the 31st.
