Mapletown's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams. The victory continues a trend for the Maples in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won eight in a row.

The team relied heavily on Makenna Lotspeich, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lainey Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Mapletown's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, their loss dropped their record down to 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mapletown will host Geibel Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Gators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17 runs per game on average), something the Maples will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they will face off against Brownsville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
