Volleyball Game Preview: Chipley Tigers vs. Baker Gators

Chipley hasn't had much luck against Baker recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Gators at 6:00 p.m. Chipley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Chipley will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Blountstown, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Chipley won by a set and slipped past Blountstown 3-2.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Chipley who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 19-25, 25-12, 23-25, 15-7.

Meanwhile, Baker came up short against Choctawhatchee on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-8, 19-25, 25-16.

Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Chipley, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.

Chipley couldn't quite get it done against Baker in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
