Softball Game Preview: Chicopee Pacers vs. Granby Rams

The Chicopee Pacers will head out on the road to square off against the Granby Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chicopee will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Granby's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Chicopee hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Pacers never let Pathfinder RVT get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Friday. The Pacers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 11 runs or more this season.

Raelyn Loud was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Aviah Blankenship was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Adeline Olbrych was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Chicopee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Granby made easy work of Palmer on Thursday and carried off a 21-4 victory. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Chicopee's record is now 13-0. As for Granby, their record now sits at 7-2.

Chicopee beat Granby 5-2 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pacers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
