Softball Recap: Chippewa Drops Highest Score of Season Against Central Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northwestern, Chippewa was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Central Christian Comets. The Chipps' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

EMMA SCRITCHFIELD spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, KYLEIGH GARTIN was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was MADI RIES, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Chippewa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Chippewa's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10. As for Central Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Chippewa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-2 loss against Dalton on the 7th. As for Central Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-10 win against Orrville on the 7th.
