Baseball Recap: Humphreys County Now 14-1 over Last 15 Games

Humphreys County proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 21) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Riverside Bulldogs 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cowboys have posted since February 27th.

The team relied heavily on Markevun York, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Percy Jefferson, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Humphreys County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Riverside, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-8.

Humphreys County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverside, they will venture away from home to face off against Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 11.6 runs per game this season.
