Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Prep Makes It 12 in a Row on the Road

Notre Dame Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took down the Chaparral Firebirds 74-60. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Firebirds are ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Notre Dame Prep pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.3 points per game. As for Chaparral, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Notre Dame Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horizon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Notre Dame Prep likes a good challenge. As for Chaparral, they are taking a road trip to square off against Campo Verde at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Campo Verde has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
