Soccer Game Preview: Clovis vs. Clovis East

The Clovis Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Clovis East Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Last Friday, Clovis came up short against Clovis North and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Broncos are ranked 11th).

Devon Richardson and Alexander Rodriguez scored both of Clovis' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 26 goals.

Meanwhile, Clovis East has been on a difficult stretch since their win on January 4. They fell just short of Clovis West by a score of 2-1 on Friday.

Clovis East's loss dropped their record down to 4-10-2. As for Clovis, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5-4.

Clovis skirted past Clovis East 2-1 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clovis since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
