Basketball Recap: Anderson Homeschool's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of four wins, Anderson HomeSchool's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took an 85-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbus HomeSchool Hawks. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (69), the SONS still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Anderson HomeSchool lost, don't look at Kailani McCloud. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 10 on his way to 24 points and four steals. McCloud is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clark Emly, who went 6 for 9 en route to 21 points and seven boards.

Columbus HomeSchool got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Greenlee out in front who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Greenlee has scored at least a third of Columbus HomeSchool's points. Another player making a difference was Ben Carter, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points and eight rebounds.

Anderson HomeSchool's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Columbus HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Anderson HomeSchool will host Fort Wayne HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Fort Wayne HomeSchool will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Anderson HomeSchool surely won't give up without a fight. Columbus HomeSchool has already played their next contest (against Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
