Basketball Recap: La Farge/Youth Initiative Comes Up Short

La Farge/Youth Initiative was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the De Soto Pirates 68-28. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against La Farge/Youth Initiative this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-13 back in December of 2024.

De Soto's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kylee Venner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Venner's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Sylvia Krueger was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards.

La Farge/Youth Initiative's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for De Soto, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

La Farge/Youth Initiative didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-21 loss against Wauzeka-Steuben on the 7th. As for De Soto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 94-22 victory against Postville on the 6th.
