Volleyball Game Preview: St. Charles East Fighting Saints vs. Oak Park-River Forest Huskies

The St. Charles East Fighting Saints will take on the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies in a tournament on Friday.

On Wednesday, St. Charles East came up short against South Elgin and fell 2-0.

While St. Charles East had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Francesca Fevold, who had nine assists and five digs.

Meanwhile, Oak Park-River Forest hadn't done well against Glenbard West recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Huskies came out on top against the Hilltoppers by a score of 2-0. The win was familiar territory for the Huskies, who have now won three contests in a row.

Oak Park-River Forest easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19.

St. Charles East better keep an eye on Kate Bailitz. She was instrumental in Oak Park-River Forest's win, getting 13 digs.

Oak Park-River Forest's record is now 16-5. As for St. Charles East, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.
