Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Liberty Christian can now relate to. They took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenville Christian Academy Knights on Thursday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Liberty Christian still got an impressive performance from Jakeem Bradford, who posted 31 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Liberty Christian is 13-4 when Bradford posts 20 or more points, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ian Sterrett, who had ten points.

Greenville Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Williams, who shot 73% from the field on his way to 20 points. Williams is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Suggs, who put up nine points and six rebounds.

Liberty Christian's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points over those games. As for Greenville Christian Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-11.

Liberty Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenville Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 43-25 defeat against Hilltop Christian on the 28th.
