Baseball Recap: Millington Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Millington had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Montrose on Monday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Rams. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cardinals' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Garret Woodward was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Luke Petzold was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Millington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montrose only posted an OBP of .318.

Millington's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Montrose, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Millington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rams: the pair will be back at it again later today.
