Volleyball Game Preview: Salt Lake Academy Griffins vs. American Heritage Patriots

The Salt Lake Academy Griffins will take on the American Heritage Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Salt Lake Academy is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering American Prep WV just ended the team's seven-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2.

Salt Lake Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (99-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-20, 16-25, 26-24, 14-25, 15-5.

Meanwhile, American Heritage came up short against Intermountain Christian on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Patriots have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-12, 25-19.

Salt Lake Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for American Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Everything went Salt Lake Academy's way against American Heritage in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Salt Lake Academy made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Griffins repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
