Basketball Recap: Woodland Takes a Loss

Woodland won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They were dealt a 58-22 loss at the hands of the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-7.

It was another big night for Skyla Tuthill, who posted 19 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds for Ashley Ridge. With that strong performance, Tuthill is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Jameson Foley, who put up 13 points and six rebounds.

Woodland's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Ashley Ridge, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Woodland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 36-19 loss against Cane Bay on the 20th. As for Ashley Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-41 win against Atlantic Collegiate Academy on the 21st.
