Cape Henlopen is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Archmere Academy, who was ranked 25th at the time (Cape Henlopen was ranked 18th). Cape Henlopen blew past Archmere Academy 14-4 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for Cape Henlopen in their matchups with Archmere Academy: they've now won five in a row.

Riley Windish made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, Cape Henlopen got a massive performance out of Jordynn Bowe, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Bowe has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alivia Longo, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Cape Henlopen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Polytech was able to grind out a solid victory over Woodbridge on Thursday, taking the game 8-3.
Riley Merritt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Emma Shelton was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Danica Humphries, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Cape Henlopen's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Polytech, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
Cape Henlopen was able to grind out a solid win over Polytech in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 5-1. Does Cape Henlopen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Polytech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
