Soccer Game Preview: Piper vs. Northeast

Piper is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Northeast is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Piper Bengals will host the Northeast Hurricanes at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northeast took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Piper, who comes in off a win.

Piper will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Stranahan, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Piper skirted past Stranahan 2-1.

Fritz Duclosy and Eric Calderon scored both of Piper's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Northeast was not quite Pembroke Pines Charter's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Jaguars are ranked 12th).

Piper's victory bumped their record up to 5-7-1. As for Northeast, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7-2 record this season.
