Basketball Recap: Cedar Bluff Comes Up Short

Cedar Bluff was the 71-57 winner over Jacksonville Christian Academy when they last played one another on December 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Cedar Bluff Tigers and the Jacksonville Christian Academy Thunder didn't end well, with the Cedar Bluff Tigers falling 75-59. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Jacksonville Christian Academy to victory were Jesse Gannaway and Noah Lee. Gannaway went 11 of 24 on his way to 27 points along with six assists and six rebounds, while Lee dropped a double-double on 16 points and 25 boards. The contest was Gannaway's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Dowdey, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Cedar Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Bluff will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sand Rock at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they will challenge Saks at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Jacksonville Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
