Volleyball Recap: Menlo-Atherton Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Menlo-Atherton not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on the San Mateo Bearcats with a sharp 3-0 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Menlo-Atherton never let San Mateo on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 25-23.

Peter Chriss paced Menlo-Atherton's offense, picking up 14 kills. Chriss really made an impact as he also led the team in assists with 23. Finally, Millo Skhiri kept Menlo-Atherton's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Menlo-Atherton pushed their record up to 22-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for San Mateo, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Menlo-Atherton will welcome Mills at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. The Bears are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for San Mateo, they will take on Burlingame at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Bearcats surely won't give up without a fight.
