Hueneme proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by nine) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Carpinteria Warriors. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Christian Solis was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Pena, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Hueneme's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Carpinteria, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3.
Hueneme will have a chance to go back-to-back against Carpinteria: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
