Football Game Preview: Monterey Plainsmen vs. Caprock Longhorns + How To Watch

The Monterey Plainsmen will face off against the Caprock Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monterey has given up an average of 32.2 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, Monterey came up short against Abilene and fell 42-34. While losing is never fun, the Plainsmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Eagles are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, Caprock played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Tascosa 52-10. The Longhorns have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Caprock's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Monterey, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything came up roses for Monterey against Caprock in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-0 victory. Will the Plainsmen repeat their success, or do the Longhorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
