Volleyball Recap: Batesburg-Leesville Comes Up Short

Batesburg-Leesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fox Creek Predators.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Batesburg-Leesville sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-20.

Kate Shealy paced Batesburg-Leesville's offense, picking up 14 kills. Shealy got some help from Molly Price and her 25 assists. Shealy was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Batesburg-Leesville's loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Fox Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Batesburg-Leesville is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Mid-Carolina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fox Creek, they will head out to square off against Academy of Richmond County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
