Basketball Game Preview: Sterling Rangers vs. Barbers Hill Eagles

Sterling hasn't had much luck against Barbers Hill recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sterling Rangers will square off against the Barbers Hill Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Sterling came up short against Port Arthur Memorial and fell 55-48. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Titans are ranked 99th).

Barbers Hill has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 65-57 to West Brook on Tuesday.

Barbers Hill's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

Sterling came up short against Barbers Hill when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 62-56. Can Sterling avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
