Basketball Game Preview: Williamsport Wildcats vs. Middletown Knights

Williamsport hasn't had much luck against Middletown recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Williamsport Wildcats will challenge the Middletown Knights at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Williamsport's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Williamsport is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Smithsburg: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Williamsport blew Smithsburg out of the water with a 79-44 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Middletown humbled Boonsboro with a 65-30 victory. While fans of the Knights might be used to big wins, the 35-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Middletown has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Williamsport, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Williamsport strolled past Middletown in their previous meeting on Thursday by a score of 75-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Williamsport since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
