Softball Recap: Carlsbad's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Carlsbad blew Alamogordo out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Alamogordo got their revenge. Carlsbad fell just short of Alamogordo by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cavemen/Cavegirls have suffered since March 26, 2024.

Carlsbad saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kalion Fuentes, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Another was Parris Weldon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

With the defeat, Carlsbad broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for Alamogordo, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Carlsbad has already played their next matchup, an 11-10 loss against Hobbs on the 29th. As for Alamogordo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-2 defeat against La Cueva on the 29th.
